Interview with Roman (2024)

Interview with Roman (1)

The idea of interview a community member is to take yet another step forward towards bringing the

community together.

The idea is to create a thread where we will interview a random community member.

During this interview we will ask the community member some questions regarding the community and how their DayZRP experience has been.

This week we interviewed:

Roman

Thank you so much for participating!

~Tell us something unique about yourself!~

I can play several instruments and have been writing music for about 17 years. I've produced many bands while working in a recording studio. Many of those albums have been officially released. The bands I've beenpart of has officially released 2 albums, 1 ep and 1 single. I have also had photographs used in one of the biggest magazines for music in Sweden. I have also taken photographs that's been used in an album outlet for a group that is one of the biggest in their genre. All in all I'm a pretty unique snowflake.

~Which section in the Forum are the you most interested in and why??~

Probably "General Discussion" since that's where I think you can find the most interesting threads that deals with both the community and game. I have to be interested in the "ban appeal/report" section since it's my job. Usually I just click on the "View Today's Posts" and go through everything that seem interesting or require staff work.

~ How did you found out about DayZRP?~

Had a group of friends that joined and they told me about it. This was in early 2013 but I didn't register since I thought that roleplay was the nerdiest thing you could do and I couldn't be arsed with the whitelist. Then I saw a few videos of P.S.I Syndicate and it actually seemed like a bit fun. My friends wouldn't stop harassing me to join and since we all played together I eventually joined. I'm the only one left.

~Have you made any friends during your time in this community??~

~Is there something that you would like to see added to our community?~

I think an Arma3 Life server would be really fun but it would take so much work that I'm not sure that it would be worth it since there are so many already well established communities out there. The only thing they don't offer is the same level of roleplay that we have. It would be fun if we could have 4 active SA servers like back in the day.

~What are some of your most memorable DayZRP experiences?~

There's so many...I had some amazing moments with B-17. I've had amazing moments with a member called Smixxa. I've also had amazing moments with another member called TheGlassSpider. I would say that the whole Sten Swein/Roman Konstantin characters lifes have been memorable. I've had more amazing roleplay then I ever thought I would have. I never thought I'd have fun again after the mod died. Then I met Smixxa on standalone and I got to experience roleplay like I hadn't before. Then when I stopped playing with her I thought I was kinda done. But then I met Alyssa Morgan and had a third wave of amazing roleplay.

~ Do you have a video of your favorite roleplay moment you would like to share with us??~

~Do you have a video of your favorite funny moment ingame you would like to share with us?~

~What do you think someone should at least do once while playing DayZRP (funny and serious and of course within the rules)?~

Play by the rules is a good start. I think using an accent. There's many people that are too self conscious when it comes to using different accents and voices. I was also afraid to use an "russian" accent because I thought I was terrible. But then I actually started using one and it was so much fun. It was so much easier to play a character when I wasn't using my own accent or voice.

~If you could meet one roleplay character you have met ingame in RL, who it would and why?~

Well...most of the people I've hanged around with were psychopaths or dangerous criminals so... I also have a very bad memory so I don't remember most people I meet to be honest. Since I've spent a lot of time with Janniks character "Cook" I would have to go with him. I would never eat the food he makes but he's a pretty fun guy to be around at times.

~Ingame, what is your favorite location to hang out?~

Sadly it's around the Stary area since that's where other people hang out. But I do often enjoy to just run around the map without a goal and just experience Chernarus in standalone since there's many things I haven't seen before. During the mod I would say my favorite spot where Prud Lake.

~ What do you feel is the best thing about DayZRP and our community? ~

That when things are good, they are really good. You can't find the same kind of roleplay anywhere that I know of. The roleplay can be moving, it can be funny, it can be scary and it can evoke so many feelings that you usually don't get to experience in the everyday life. DayZRP can offer a similar feeling I had when I first started playing the mod back in 2012. No other game have given so much to me. I remember in the mod when you were scared sh*tless for the zombies and your adrenaline were pumping if you had gotten shot at. After a while that kinda went away.

Then I joined DayZRP and got some of that back plus more that I never thought I'd get to experience. I would also say that the high level of respect that staff strive for on the forums is something I really appreciate. I've been in some other communities where the banter was so cancerous that you didn't feel good being part of it. As I've grown older I've gotten tired of all that and I more then ever appreciate a mature and respectful community. I remember when Rolle switched attitude when it came to these kind of things and at first I thought that he was forcing something that wasn't "natural", something that felt like the stepford wives. That was because I was so used to all those negative things on other communities. Then after a while I started realizing that a community doesn't have to be like that. There can actually be a community that isn't like the majority of other places. I also think that staff is one of the best things about the community.

~Is there anything you regret IC and OOC, since you have joined DayZRP (if yes, what and why?)~

No not really. I wish I could had continued to have a connection with the old B-17 crew since we had a lot fun.

But there's a time and place for everything and I can't say I regret anything.

~Do you have any tips or hints for newcomers?~

DON'T START OUT AS A BANDIT! Take your time to get accustomed to the rules and roleplay we have on our server.

Join a group to get experience if needed. Be respectful. Don't take things that happen in character personal.

~Is there anything you would like to see more of within the community?~

That people don't let things that happen in character spill over to out of character.

Interested in doing our interview?

Well you could be the potential next one!

We randomly pick people.

Keep a close eye on that PM box![/color]
