In the park, Nick tells Faith how fired up he is to be spending time with her. They talk about her breakup and how good it is for her to be away from the scene of the crime.
She’s ready to move on. They talk about guys she might vibe with.
This is making them uncomfortable. He suggests she talk to her mom about it.
She says her mom has been pretty checked out. He knows. They are both worried.
He attributes a lot of it to Sharon’s meds. Faith has caught her looking at the Cassie scrapbook and being sad.
It was hard to watch.
He knows grief can he uncomfortable to watch. The pain of losing a child never leaves you.
Faith worries she has caused this but he assures her she didn’t. He’s sure Sharon will get through this.
She explains that her mom is often staring at nothing. Nick has seen this too.
He puts it down to the meds and too much work. Faith points out she barely works at all.
This sounds out of character to Nick. His daughter explains she just buys takeout she doesn’t eat.
She’s not even sure Sharon is taking her meds. She just stares at them.
He’s glad that she’s told him this. He asks her to let him worry about it. She wants to help.
At home, Sharon opens her door and wonders what she’s looking for. She wonders why she imagined Nick kissing her.
When ghost Cassie appears, Sharon tells her how much she misses her.
Her mind is showing her what she wants to see. Cassie disappears.
Sharon heads out.
Sharon goes into Society to grab food. She runs into Daniel, who notices she seems agitated.
She is. Nothing short of time travel would help her at this point.
She’s been missing Cassie so much. But why now? Is it because she named the company after her?
It’s like some cruel joke. Reliving all of this has been so brutal. The loss keeps replaying.
Daniel is sorry and sure seeing him is the last thing she needed.
Is it hard for her to talk to him?
She admits that she’s just been overwhelmed.
He needs her to know how sorry he is. She’s sure they covered all that a long time ago.
When he brings up the details, she begs him to stop.
He hopes she is talking to someone to work through this. She says she doesn’t need a therapist.
This is just another thing that’s been going on with her.
He says that what she’s going through is just proof of what an impact Cassie has and how much she’s missed. It’s a reflection of how much she loved her. How can that be a bad thing?
As she goes, she tells him he appreciates his understanding. He’s always willing to talk about Cassie.
If she needs to rail at him, he won’t back away.
He thanks her for not telling Lucy the whole story. She never would.
Lucy arrives as Sharon exits.
She joins her dad and they get a table. He quizzes her about the pool party.
She’s vague. He’s concerned about the mysterious way she got home and concerned they were not drinking.
She wonders if this has something to so with Sharon. She knows about Cassie.
She did research online about the crash. Why didn’t he tell her?
He doesn’t talk to anyone about it. It hurts too much. Seeing Sharon beings it all back.
That accident is something he will always regret. He was waiting until she was older to tell her.
She’s sure it’s weird that she’s the same age Cassie was when she died.
He admits he feels guilty. She can’t imagine he ever stops thinking about it.
It hits him all the time. He can picture her face and how she used to act when hanging out with the older kids.
Lucy wishes he’d told her on his own. She wouldn’t judge him.
He wouldn’t blame her if she did. His daughter wants to know the good and bad of his life.
Sharon walks into the park and finds Nick and Faith talking.
She’s happy to see them spending time together. Faith thought she was going to work.
Sharon says she’s having lunch in the park.
Nick asks if her meds are balanced out and she insists she’s back to normal.
